Hollywood Bloopers in 2007

Among the many ‘top tens’ at the end of each year, here is one not so flattering for the greatest Hollywood bloopers in 2007. The list includes known ‘offenders’ who drew attention of the public with their behaviour in public, the court, jail, rehab clinics and the like.

You can see more about them HERE.

1. BRITNEY SPEARS – She beat all her competition and took top spot on the list of greatest Hollywood bloopers of 2007.

Her collapse in front of the public eye began a long time ago, with her marriage to dancer andBritney Spears in New York stepped awkwardly, and in the last moment managed to keep her son Sean Preston in her arms, 2006. wannabe singer, Kevin Federline. But it all culminated this year.

This year Britney made the covers of hundreds of newspapers wearing no knickers, drunk and high. She shaved her head in front of cameras of paparazzi and divorced Kevin.

After that her great come-back to the music scene had been announced, but her great come-back ended in a fiasco. Her poor performance at the MTV awards and the criticism that ensued did not help her return to shape. Britney also had to face a custody battle for her two sons, which she lost.

2. OWEN WILSON – The actor attempted suicide in August, allegedly because of break-up with his girlfriend Kate Hudson. The rumour was that Wilson slit his wrists and then took an overdose of narcotics. The controversial Courtney Love defended him, saying she understood him, which did not go in his favour, considering her reputation.

Paris Hilton is not afraid to dance on the table. With legs like these, everything is allowed.3. PARIS HILTON – The party animal took up third spot for her time spent in prison. She earned her sentence driving under the influence on several occasions and violating her probation. Before she ended up behind bars, she had a boob job and was seen walking around, Bible in hand, which did not save her from jail, even though she did get a mild sentence. A new home video also surfaced on the Internet in which she is taking a bath. You can see it HERE. She is just a magnet for scandals.

4. LINDSAY LOHAN took up the high fourth place. Apart from the nickname ‘party animal’, she earned others: alcoholic, junkie, sex addict and wild driver. This year she will be remembered for having sex in the rest room of a rehab clinic with a stranger.

5. AMY WINEHOUSE – As much as her musician colleagues praise her talent, she could not avoid getting on this list. Her alcohol and drug addiction could not go unnoticed. She appeared drunk and drugged in front of the cameras of many paparazzi, but also at concerts and various awards. Her husband ended up in prison and it looks like she might be joining him. She is currently being investigated for trying to bribe a barman in London.

6. ALEC BALDWIN – I call you and you don’t pick up. This is the last time you have insulted me! I don’t care if you’re 11 or 12. You have no brain, you rude pig, Alec Baldwin, 49, screamed at his daughter Ireland, 11. Baldwin and ex-wife Kim Basinger are fighting for custody over Ireland ever since they divorced five years ago. The threatening message Alec left on his daughter’s answering machine made it to the Internet, which spurred much discussion on the actor’s behaviour across the United States.

7. ROSIE O’DONNEL – The television talks show host, former comedian and lesbian icon recently shocked the American public when the ABC company, despite her huge ratings, refused to extend her contract on hosting “The View” show. O’Donnel claimed she could not agree with ABC about the length of the contract, but the fact that she criticised the American Idol in her show as being full of racism and discrimination certainly did not help her.

8. DAVID HASSELHOFF – The Baywatch star, father to Taylor Anne, 17 and Hayley, 15, loves his liquor. In an attempt to mend his ways, he allowed his daughter film him if he ever turned up drunk again. And that is what happened. Hass got drunk, his daughter turned on the camera and put the video up on YouTube for all eyes to see.

9. TARA REID – Another party animal/failed actress recently collapsed in Bali. She was not seriously injured, but spurred rumours about malnutrition and excessive drug abuse. She was also frequently caught tripping on the red carpet. The organisers of various events wrote – unacceptable – next to her name because of her stench of cigarettes and excessive alcohol use.

10. ELLEN DEGENERES – The famous actress, television show host and lesbian this year became involved in a scandal with pets. With her partner Portia De Rossi, she adopted an abandoned Boston Griffin dog via the “Mutts and Mothers” agency. But they could not keep the dog because the pup got into fights with their cats. Although, according to the contract she signed, she was obliged to return to dog to the agency if she decided not to keep it, Ellen simply gave the dog to her hairdresser and caused rage among animal lovers.

Britney's Paparazzi Boyfriend Speaks

Britney Spears

Britney Spears' new paparazzi boyfriend is really enjoying his 15 minutes. The British pap is already talking to the press about his 'special' night with the fallen pop star.

Adnan Ghalib went on 20/20 and claimed that him and Spears' did the nasty in between the sheets and described the night as "awesome." Obviously it was "awesome," no one knew you existed and now your on 20/20.

Speaking on 20/20 Adnan also said, "She is the way she is because of the people she surrounds herself with. On a single level, I think she's awesome."

Veteran celebs share pearls of wisdom

With all the craziness surrounding the paparazzi and public's obsession with celebrities, some stars this year passed along advice to young Hollywood. Among them:

"Continue doing your work. Always keep work first. Hype is second, and don't let that become part of your reality. Just stay real and do your job. … You have to remember that we're the luckiest people in the world to do what we do and get paid for it." —Jennifer Aniston, Harper's Bazaar, November 2007

"Fame will (mess) with your head, and if you don't have a solid foundation, you get swept away in it. … The kids now who are experiencing fame, money, paparazzi — they need to get their (butts) out of the night clubs and have a barbecue with … family once a week. It's not rocket science." —Dave Grohl, Maxim, January 2008

"If you're going to go out, there is a possibility and, depending on who you are, there is a probability that you'll have your picture taken. … If you don't feel up for that, don't go out. You did sign up for it, and you do have to understand that. If you're going to be out in public, you have to behave." —Lisa Kudrow, USA TODAY, Dec. 19, 2007

"I think we've all learned that you can't always make the right move. I look on it as work. … One of the biggest blessings in this business is to have something you find more interesting. It's a great thing when you can dissociate yourself." —Kate Hudson, Vogue, January 2008. (She credits her mother's partner, Kurt Russell, for the advice.)

"We try not to talk (in the media) about the relationship. It's not that we're not proud; it's just that's the kiss of death." —Sarah Jessica Parker, Elle, August 2007. (She adds that she and husband Matthew Broderick also try to avoid walking down a red carpet together.)

Hugh Grant and Liz Hurley sue celeb pics agency

Hugh Grant has joined forces with ex lover Liz Hurley and her new husband Arun Nayar to sue celebrity photographic agency Big Pictures (UK).

The trio, who recently holidayed together in the Seychelles, are believed to be suing over a series of snaps which showed Liz rubbing sun cream on to Hugh’s face.

The pictures also demonstrated the closeness between the newly weds and their friend Hugh as they enjoyed the winter sunshine in October.

Grant, 47, Arun, 42, and Liz, are also suing photographic agency Eliot Press Sarl. A copy of the writ is not yet available from the court - but it is possible the pair are claiming breach of privacy.

In a high profile settlement in 2003, DJ Sara Cox and her husband claimed £50,000 in damages from The People after suing for breach of privacy over pictures showing her sunbathing topless on her honeymoon.

Paparazzi ruining Tyra Banks chances of finding Mr Right

Former super model Tyra Banks has criticized the paparazzi for wrecking her chances of finding an ideal man.

The 34-year-old model blamed the tabloid speculation about her love life in ruining her chances of finding her Mr Right.

Banks hates being linked to every famous eligible bachelor and giving her image of messing around with guys.

I’ve dated Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter, Michael Jordan and Matt Damon (in the press). And people believe it, so you get this track record like you’re messing around with all these guys,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

Jessica Alba Doesn’t Dig Paparazzi Attention

While celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears are always up for dealing with the constant paparazzi attention they receive, Jessica Alba isn’t about to let a herd of shutterbugs ruin her day.

The “Awake” actress took to the streets of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California yesterday, in search of some fabulous clothes.

According to reports, she stopped into the Gucci store, as well as the Dior boutique in her quest for some hot duds. She was wearing a black wool topcoat, newsboy-style cap and a black scarf.

Meanwhile, ever since she announced her pregnancy, Jessica has noticed an ever-increasing number of paparazzi coming to snap pics. To counter these conditions, Miss Alba played it safe and enlisted the help of some Beverly Hills police officers as she made her exit back to her car - quickly driving out of camera’s view.

Tony Parker, Eva Longoria sue over claims of affair

TONY Parker is planning to sue over claims he cheated on his wife Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria with a French model he met at their wedding.

The US basketball star today filed a $20 million lawsuit in Santa Monica against photo agency X17 over a story claiming he had an affair with noted maneater Alexandra Paressant.

The 26-year-old model, who once dated Brazilian football legend Ronaldhino, told X17 the affair began two months after Parker and Longoria’s wedding.

She also revealed intimate details about Eva and Tony's love life based on conversations they shared.

The suit alleges X17 defamed Parker by publishing the allegations when the company "had to know that the story was false, or at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of its supposed source".

Parker's suit states: "Tony Parker has never had sexual relations with a woman named Alexandra Paressant."

X17 immediately jumped to their own defence today, releasing a statement reading: "The journalists at X17online conducted extensive research for the reporting of this story and we felt the evidence was too strong to ignore. Alexandra Paressant’s claims were significant and newsworthy and we are continuing to uncover more details each day in our continued investigation."

Is Lindsay Lohan in Cahoots With the Paparazzi?

Always interested in getting as much exposure as humanly possible, Lindsay Lohan took a jaunt out to grab some groceries in Beverly Hills yesterday.

The “Mean Girls” actress was looking cute and casual, in a grey shirt with some distressed jeans and a beaded silvery scarf, topped off with a pair of oversized black sunglasses.

And there’s suspicion that the troubled singer/actress is getting desperate for cash, given that she’s lacking in the movie role department due to her drug and alcohol use.

Late last week, a package of photos of LiLo on her way to the recording studio were put up for sale for $30,000 through a photo agency. And there’s speculation that she staged the photo ops herself, to cash in on the demand for her pics.

An insider revealed, “They were offered through a photo agency, but they’re clearly staged — she’s in full hair and makeup.”

However, a Lohan pal defended her, saying, Everyone does this in Hollywood; it’s totally normal. Lindsay’s excited about the new album and wants to get the word out.”

And if you’re hoping to see the crimson-haired actress at all the top holiday parties this season, think again. Apparently nobody wants to invite her, as she may be exposed to alcohol and fall off the wagon.

“Nobody is comfortable bringing her into an environment with alcohol,” says an insider. “Whether she’s rehabbed or relapsed, it’s bad either way.”

Lindsay Lohan tries to sell family photos

Lindsay Lohan tried to sell photographs of her family Thanksgiving dinner, it has been claimed.

The 'Mean Girls' actress offered staged pictures of her with mother Dina, sister Ali, her brothers and boyfriend Riley Giles celebrating the holidays to several celebrity magazines.

She initially demanded a six-figure sum, but eventually dropped the price to $20,000 when she failed to find a buyer.

A source told MSNBC, "She thinks she's a huge star. She thinks everyone is dying to read about her, but she's lost her fan base. Her decisions are being driven by cash, not repairing her image."

Lindsay, 21, reportedly failed to sell the pictures, but made some money from her family shopping trip to New York's Armani Exchange and Intermix store on November 23.

It is claimed Lindsay tipped off the paparazzi she would be there and was paid to visit the clothing store.

The source added, "It seems like everything Lindsay does is to make money."

Last month, it was claimed the troubled star - who completed treatment in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction and served a prison sentence for driving under the influence - is broke after blowing her $7 million fortune on drugs and partying.

Brad Pitt Wants Law To Protect Celebs' Kids From Paparazzi

Devoted family man Brad Pitt wants a law to be passed for the protection of celebrities' children from paparazzi.

Pitt has revealed to Larry King through his CNN show Tuesday night that reporters and photographers flock his children everyday.

"[They] call out my kids names and shove cameras in their faces, and I really believe there should be laws against that. I mean, my kids believe that any time you go outside the house there is just a wall of photographers and people that take their picture. That is their view of the world and I worry about the effect it will have on them," Angelina Jolie's partner says.

The 43-year-old actor is parent together with Jolie to his children, Maddox (6), Pax (3), Zahara (2) and Shiloh (17 months). Only Shiloh is the biological child, the rest are adopted but Pitt doesn't see the difference.

"They're as much as my blood as I am theirs. And they are brothers and sisters. One came from Ethiopia, one from Vietnam, one from Cambodia, and one born in Namibia. And they are brothers and sisters, and they have fun and they squabble and they fight, just like any other family. And it makes me so proud."

Pitt, who has a long-list of box office films, is quoted saying that fatherhood is hardest job in the world but also the most rewarding.

Angry Julia Roberts turns tables in paparazzi chase

Hollywood icon Julia Roberts angrily gave chase to a car carrying paparazzi photographers after spotting them filming her near a school, reports said Thursday.

The actress raced after the photographers in her Mercedes sports utility vehicle, blasting them with her horn and gesturing the lensmen to pull over, in footage broadcast by syndicated television show "Inside Edition."

The 40-year-old Oscar-winning star of "Pretty Woman" and "Erin Brockovich" then angrily scolds the photographers for allegedly filming her near a school, ordering them to turn off a video camera filming her.

"Turn it off," Roberts tells the photographers. "I want to talk to you about the fact that you're at a school where children go. Turn it off."

The incident is the latest flashpoint involving celebrities and members of the Los Angeles paparazzi.

Actor George Clooney last week hit out at paparazzi "bounty-hunters," accusing them of risking the safety of innocent bystanders in their pursuit of celebrity photos.

Clooney, who was also involved in a filmed altercation with photographers earlier this month, said paparazzi often broke the law while chasing their targets.

"What they're doing is illegal, it's high-speed chases and they're competing with each other," Clooney said.

"They're not trying to catch me doing something stupid; they're trying to create me doing something stupid. You don't get to break all these laws and then say, 'I'm just doing my job.'"

Celebs vs. Paprazzi - - Crash Course is a Snap

Motown had it down to a science, decades ago. Before the recording stars became famous, they had to graduate from the in-house finishing school, led by the elegant Maxine Powell. They learned about posture before they became Supremes.

Apparently, there are no classes in Hollywood today about how to be classy. The stars don't know how to get out of a car with their legs together, or to steer clear of Tommy Lee. They certainly don't know how to deal with the paparazzi.

So today's public service is a crash course in how to navigate the swarm of snapping photographers that surround celebrities.

Just a civilian? Read on anyway. The same applies to overzealous uncles with camcorders during the holiday season.

DON'T RUN OVER THE PAPARAZZI'S FEET.

There's a lot to remember when you're driving a Mercedes -- strap in the toddlers, glance in the rearview mirror -- so it's understandable that Britney Spears might neglect to check for photographers. Still, we urge her to drive around the crowds of photographers. Running over their feet just makes them mad.

DO ASK THEM FOR DIRECTIONS.

It makes them feel useful. In fact, Paris Hilton is so friendly with her stalkerazzi that when her Bentley ran out of gas in January, she didn't have to call AAA. One of the photogs offered to run up the street and get her some unleaded.

DON'T THROW FOODSTUFFS AT THEM.

Hugh Grant thought that getting caught on Sunset Boulevard with a hooker was a low point. That was until the Baked Beans Incident. Grant was arrested in April for hurling a container of baked beans at a free-lance photographer who shouted, "Give us a smile, please!" Grant also allegedly kicked him three times, and kneed him in the groin.

DO FEED THEM.

While the paparazzi staked out Nicole Kidman's Sydney home before her wedding to Keith Urban, she sent out two cases of cold beer with a note that said, "Enjoy!" Let's hope the bridesmaids received nice keepsakes, too.

DON'T ENGAGE IN A CAR CHASE.

Lindsey Lohan tried to outspeed the paparazzi in her car, and ended up in a collision with one. Thank God she was able to walk away from the accident, or the world may have been deprived of her work in the stripper drama "I Know Who Killed Me."

DO WORK WITH THE ENEMY.

If you can refrain from hitting them (I'm talking to you, Sean Penn and Cameron Diaz), the paparazzi can be your friends. That's how OK! magazine stays in business. Some event organizers have gone so far as to hire actors to pretend to be paparazzi, just so their guests will feel important. If no one wants a photo of you, then you don't have a career. Some stars reportedly collude with photo agencies who sell only flattering photos of them, tipping them off when they're heading to, say, a Malibu grocery store. Don't forget the oversize sunglasses and lip gloss!

DON'T INVITE THEM INTO THE JOHN WITH YOU.

I said the paparazzi can be your "friends," not your "best friends." I hate to pick on Britney Spears again, and this is one rule I'd hoped would go without saying. But let me emphasize this: No good will come out of asking a photographer to accompany you to the loo.

Spears reportedly did just that during a trip to Atlanta.

In a Quiznos.

Hey Britney. ... You know where there are some really nice, private bathrooms? At your house. Any of your houses. Try staying in one for a few days, out of sight.

The price of your photos will only go up.

Clooney condemns paparazzi for profiting from wrong deeds

A videotape of a very upset George Clooney scolding paparazzi for reckless driving has made it online and the actor is annoyed that photographers are using the tape to make money.

Various websites have picked this video up where Clooney pulls his motorcycle over and scolds two video photographers for rash driving as they followed him.

Clooney now has gone on TV to berate the fact that those photographers have gone on to make some money with that video, contactmusic.com reports.

'This tape, they are selling it all around everywhere. So, that means that these guys who committed all these crimes get rewarded for it. There must be a formula for someone that says, `If you are committing a crime, you shouldn't be able to profit off them (tapes).' It's gotten really dangerous out here,' Clooney said on a TV show.

Kidman Tells Court of Paparazzi Terror...

I was really, really scared: Nicole Kidman

One of Hollywood's most glamourous actresses dressed down today for her eagerly awaited appearance to give evidence in a packed Sydney court.

Wearing a staid combination of grey skirt, blush blouse done up to the neck and pink cardigan, Nicole Kidman braved a crush of photographers to make her way into the NSW Supreme Court to give evidence in a defamation case involving celebrity photographer Jamie Fawcett .

She told the court how she had been scared and in tears after an incident three years ago when Fawcett allegedly ran red lights and mounted the median strip in what she termed a "crazy'' pursuit.

Kidman said she was crouched down in the back seat during the drive to her parents' Greenwich house on January 23, 2005.

She said longtime employee John Manning had agreed to drive her, after a listening device had been found outside her Darling Point home - which she said had been a "deeply disturbing'' revelation.

During the drive Mr Manning told her they were being followed by Fawcett and another car, which worried her.

"He said that they were driving crazy and that they had run red lights and jumped the median strip,'' she said.

Mr Manning's voice had sounded "pretty panicked'' and she added: "I was frightened and I was worried about a car accident.''

Kidman, who sat with her hands folded on her lap throughout her testimony, said she had been "really, really scared'' during the trip.

It was as a result of incidents like that that she had to hire private security, she said.

"There were so many occasions, I've employed people to protect me now - 24-hour security - I don't drive myself because I'm too scared [of] being pursued,'' she told the court.

A lighter moment came when she was asked to read her police statement, and she began reading it out aloud until the judge told her just to read it by herself.

She smiled and tapped her forehead in a reflex action as might Homer Simpson, though a tad more daintily.

Last year, a jury found an article in The Sun-Herald had defamed Mr Fawcett.

The jury found the article conveyed six defamatory meanings including that Mr Fawcett was "Sydney's most disliked freelance photographer'' and had behaved in such "an intrusive and threatening manner that he had scared'' Kidman.

Justice Carolyn Simpson is conducting a hearing in which Fairfax has called witnesses seeking to establish some of the defamatory meanings are true.

CBS Offers Midtown Manhattan Free Wireless Internet Access

Some awesome news out of Manhattan today. CBS Corporation has announced today that it will "light up" midtown Manhattan with the creation of the "CBS Mobile Zone," a wireless high-speed network enabling New Yorkers with Wi-Fi-enabled cell phones, laptops or other devices to access the Internet for free, and make voice over internet (VOI) calls.

The zone will be from Times Square to Central Park South and from 6th Avenue to 8th Avenue and is a test in partnership with the MTA.

You might be asking what CBS gets out of the deal - ad impressions! New Yorkers who access the "CBS Mobile Zone," will be greeted by an ad-supported homepage that includes hyperlocal content such as breaking local and national news, sports highlights, weather reports, music discovery, wallpapers, ringtones, maps, a social network and the ability to search for nearby restaurants, shops and entertainment complete with geographically- targeted community reviews. Citi and Salesgenie.com(TM) have signed on to be early sponsors of the Wi-Fi HotZone.

"This is another example of how the assets of CBS Outdoor are enhanced by new technologies," said Wally Kelly, Chairman and CEO of CBS Outdoor. "What better way to show we are committed to turning our Outdoor assets
into next-generation interactive platforms than providing free Wi-Fi service in what is arguably the busiest stretch of real estate in the world. This offering will allow us to evaluate the prospect of applying Wi-Fi capabilities across our Outdoor properties globally."

They are also giving routers to local businesses in the Mobile Zone to enhance the signals. I wonder what the signal will be like on New Year's Eve! Just how many connections can this system handle was not disclosed.

Many of the companies covered on CN are included in the Homepage including: Tropos, BIG, Fon, Ning, Goowy, Veoh, Yelp, 1020, Aptilo and Can-Do Entertainment.

Paparazzi photographer injured chasing Spears

A paparazzi chasing troubled pop star Britney Spears was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a car driven by another photographer, police said Tuesday.

The accident occurred on Monday in Beverly Hills when a photographer driving a Range Rover made an illegal right turn hitting the motorbike and its rider, police sergeant Jay Kim said.

The injured photographer was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with cuts to his legs and arms although the extent of his injuries was not immediately known. Spears was not injured and had "no direct involvement" in the collision, police said.

The incident is the latest traffic scrape linked to Spears, whose daily movements around Los Angeles are routinely tracked by a pack of paparazzi.

Last month Spears accidentally ran over the foot of a photographer who had crowded her Mercedes as it exited a car-park.

When Paparazzi Strike Back: Keanu Reeves Edition

Keanu Reeves is the latest celeb to face the ire of an angry and purportedly injured paparazzo. Photographer Alison Silva claims Reeves struck him in the knee with his Porsche 911 on March 19th of this year, as he was backing out of a parking space at a clinic in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Silva’s lawyer claims the photographer has sustained “serious injuries to the body and severe shock and injuries to the nervous system and person, all of which have caused and continue to cause the Plantiff great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering.” Silva is also claiming the incident has left him unable to make a living, which we suspect probably involves chasing cars with cameras.

Reeves’ camp claims the paparazzo was blocking his way as he tried to back out of the spot and also suggests the injuries were extremely minor and not enough to warrant legal action.

As of late, several paparazzi have come forward, citing celebrity mistreatment. Photographer Robert Rosen alleges “James Bond” star Pierce Brosnan took a swing at him after he spotted the star dining with his son at an L.A. restaurant and a TMZ photographer claims Britney Spears ran over his foot as she pulled out of a medical building garage.

In Britney’s case, it doesn’t look like she’ll face any charges, but Pierce Brosnan is a different story. LAPD are currently investigating the incident.

In other, more pleasant, Keanu Reeves news, the “Matrix” star has signed on to appear in the upcoming remake of the sci-fi classic, “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” opposite the very lovely Jennifer Connelly. Connelly will take on the role of Helen Benson, which was played by Patricia Neal in the original and Reeves has been cast as the alien Klatuu, a role made famous by British actor Michael Rennie. Reeves will also star in the upcoming “The Night Watchman,” directed by “Training Day” scribe David Ayer, which stars Forest Whitaker and Jay Mohr as well.

Photogs Jacked at ACE Awards

Ace Awards Gala
Cipriani, 42nd St.

One question... why do you credential 30+ photographers for this event and proceed to provide only enough room for 10. If you call in and reserve a spot with the PR, is it to much to expect a spot actually to be reserved? When the PR from Paul Wilmot answer, "We told you to bring ladders", you have overbooked your press pen.

Twenty plus photographers wound up outside in the street where all the talent graciously posed.

Jessica Biel Snaps Back At the Paparazzi

jessica biel snaps a pic

A little over a week ago, Jessica Biel released some of her built-up frustration by lashing back at the horde of paparazzi who follow her every move.

This weekend, rather than swinging around an umbrella, the Powder Blue babe kept things more civil by simply giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Jessica spent the day running errands with a gal pal around Los Angeles, as both took turns pointing their camera at the shutterbugs as they took Jessica’s dog to the vet and visited a grocery store to do some shopping.

On the way home, the 25-year-old stopped in at a picture framer’s, purchasing two frames, and then a hardware store before calling it a day and returning home.

A paparazzi hit in March by Keanu Reeves in a slow-moving Porsche 911 is suing the actor, according to judicial sources Monday.

Press photographer Alison Silva said he was injured in the incident and incurred losses due to his hospitalization. He filed a civil suit against Reeves asking for an unspecified level of damages.

The photographer was hit by the star of the "Matrix" trilogy on March 19 in Rancho Palos Verdes, a posh seaside neighborhood in southwest Los Angeles.

At the time local law enforcement said Silva was lightly injured and sent to the hospital.

MILLS CALLS FOR PAPARAZZI TO BE LICENSED

SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY's estranged wife HEATHER MILLS has slammed the British press for making her life a misery. The 39-year-old launched into a bitter tirade against the media during an interview with U.K. TV show GMTV on Wednesday (31Oct07) and insists she is being forced to "live in a prison' because of the snappers who turn upon her doorstep.

Mills recently took a photographer to court on assault charges after accusing him of grabbing her shoulder as he tried to take her picture. Jay Kaycappa was sentenced to 140 hours community service in August this year (07) after he was found guilty of assaulting both Mills and her friend Mark Payne in a subway in Brighton, England in July 2006.

The former model insists the media need to crack down on 'irresponsible journalism' and has launched a campaign to take her views to the European Parliament.

She says, "I live in a prison. I have to fight back or I will go insane. They (the paparazzi) follow me all the time. They even tried to hack down my fence. They follow me constantly and they've got no licences. They have to be licensed because how do I know if these people outside my house are stalkers or not?"

Paparazzi, Beware! Hollywood Stars Have a Secret Weapon: Israeli Commandos

When Kevin Federline’s lawyer wanted to serve Britney Spears’s closest associates with subpoenas during the ill-fated duo’s recent custody battle, he hired a former Israeli commando to get the job done.

Veterans of Israeli special operations units have found lucrative careers
helping Hollywood stars fend off stalkers and paparazzi.

While this service may not have necessitated counter-terrorism expertise, the ex-Israeli operative who carried out the mission, Aaron Cohen, has built a career on the premise that protecting celebrities has more in common with nabbing Islamic radicals than may be apparent. Cohen, 31, is the founder of IMS Security — short for “Israeli Military Specialists” — a Los Angeles-based private security firm operating in the hostile territory of Hollywoodland.

A native of Beverly Hills, Cohen has parlayed his service in Duvdevan — an elite Israeli commando unit responsible for capturing, and sometimes killing, Palestinian militants in the West Bank — into a lucrative, niche business back in his hometown. Hiring Israelis culled exclusively from the Jewish state’s top four special operations units, Cohen oversees the only private security firm specializing in bringing Israeli-style protection to the upper reaches of stardom. Guarding the likes of Brad Pitt, Jackie Chan and Eva Longoria, to name but a few, Cohen — with a minimum retainer fee in the range of $20,000 and a day’s work costing up to $1,000 — has applied the principles he learned detaining terrorists to keeping aggressive paparazzi and the occasional celebrity stalker at bay.

“Stalking is a form of terror,” Cohen explained in an interview in Los Angeles’s Fairfax district, sipping a cup of strong black coffee. “The formula is a lot like counter-terrorism, because you need to see who you’re dealing with before you freak out.”

Di crash paparazzi in hiding

LONDON: The first photographer on the scene of Princess Diana’s fatal crash has gone into hiding to avoid giving evidence at her inquest.

Legal sources now fear none of the paparazzi who chased Diana’s car will agree to testify.
Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker had hoped to call them this week to speak via TV link to Paris.
But as foreign nationals living overseas they cannot be forced to appear at the High Court in London where the inquest is entering its fifth week.

Now Romuald Rat, known as ‘King Rat’ to fellow paparazzi, has gone further and disappeared so he could not formally be asked to attend.

He was one of 10 photographers arrested on suspicion of involuntary homicide and allegedly failing to help the stricken victims - but no charges were ever brought.

The photographers know that lawyers for Dodi Fayed’s father Mohamed, driver Henri Paul and the Ritz Hotel will try to blame them for harassing the car and being a major factor in the crash.

Rat, then working for the Gamma picture agency, reached the Alma tunnel soon after the Mercedes crashed. He had been a passenger on the back of a motorcycle and, witnesses say, he immediately began taking photos of the death scene. The court has heard allegations of photographers shouting to each other “Hurry up, she’s dead” and ordering those trying to help to get out of the way so they could do their “job”.
Rat has claimed that he tried to help the Princess but witnesses have also told the inquest how paparazzi had come within feet of the speeding car and - according to one suggestion - used a “blocking car” to force Paul to slow down as he sped from the Ritz to Dodi Fayed’s flat.

If the photographers fail to appear they will leave a hole in the first hand eye-witness evidence for the coroner and jury to decide what happened that night in August 1997. – London Evening Standard

Pitt's children are scared of paparazzi

Actor Brad Pitt has revealed that he and his partner Angelina Jolie are concerned about the level of media attention surrounding their children.

Pitt said that he doesn't like the fact that their four young children have to navigate a sea of cameras every time they leave their home.

The actor said: "They have this view that any time they go round the world there's this sea of people with cameras."

"This is their idea of the world they live in. My two-year-old (Zahara) hates it. Hates the cameras. It's a strange idea."

Speaking about the paparazzi, Pitt said: "It's out of hand and crosses all lines of decency."

"The kids didn't ask for this and it's frightening. They get right in the kids' faces with video cameras and yell their names."

Jessica Biel takes on the paparazzi

Jessica Biel launched a tirade of abuse at paparazzi yesterday.

The 25-year-old actress was in no mood to have her picture taken when she left a Santa Monica yoga studio, and began shouting at the waiting photographers.

She shouted at them to "not to get close" and "to get a real job".

The Illusionist star even reportedly tried to hit one snapper with her umbrella - in a move reminiscent of troubled singer Britney Spears' umbrella attack on a photographer's car in February this year.

It seems Jessica has been taking a few tips from boyfriend Justin Timberlake who has had his own run-ins with photographers in the past.

In September, the Sexy/Back singer lashed out at a paparazzo who tried to take a picture of Jessica as they arrived at a Beverly Hills hotel.

Justin also got into an altercation with another photographer when he jumped out at him and his then girlfriend Cameron Diaz outside Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont hotel in November 2004.

Britney Spears Appears to Hit Paparazzo

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - It might just be Britney Spears' latest hit.

Hours after losing child-visitation rights Thursday, the troubled pop star apparently ran over a photographer's foot with her car.

According to celebrity Web site Hollywood.TV, Spears was pulling out of a Beverly Hills medical building around 5 p.m. when the incident occurred.

Messages left late Thursday with Spears' attorney were not immediately returned. A police dispatcher in Beverly Hills said late Thursday no police report had been filed.

Video on the Web site is titled "The Unfortunate Foot Incident," but doesn't show the tire of Spears' car rolling over the cameraman's foot.

The video shows Spears beginning to pull out of a parking garage when her car is surrounded by more than a dozen photographers. The car comes to a stop.

Spears honks and the car lurches forward a few feet. Shouting is heard, and the camera jerks around as fellow photographers apparently help a man to his feet.

Spears drives off. Seconds later, the video shows what appears to be a tire mark on the unidentified paparazzo's sock. The man, wearing sandals with white socks, doesn't respond to questions from the cameraman and walks off without any apparent problems.

Earlier Thursday, Spears learned she was barred from visiting her young sons, who are in the custody of ex-husband Kevin Federline, until she complies with a court order, Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled.

The order, dated Wednesday, does not spell out what directives Spears defied. A hearing in the matter was scheduled for Oct. 26.

Spears' apparent foot bender isn't the first time she's had trouble behind the wheel. She faces hit and run charges and driving without a valid license from an Aug. 6 wreck.

In that crash, paparazzi filmed Spears steering her car into another vehicle as she tried to turn into a spot in a Studio City parking lot. The video showed her walking away after assessing the damage to her own car.

Halle Berry fumes over ‘paparazzi’ crash

Oscar winner Halle Berry has accused the paparazzi of forcing her off the road while she was driving in Hollywood - two days after announcing she was pregnant.

The actress reveals she suddenly became a target after telling the world she was expecting her first child, but the army of photographers that started following her everywhere overstepped the mark when they caused her to crash into a wall.

She says, "I got into a car accident because the paparazzi chased me."

Berry was furious when the snappers stuck around after the accident to get photographs of her car being towed away - and then lied about the crash, so publications would print the pictures.

She fumes, "They said, ’Oh, Halle Berry’s car is being towed because she was illegally parked.’ No! It was crashed because the paparazzi chased me into a wall.

"There I was stuck with my crashed-up car wondering if this somehow impacted my pregnancy and feeling totally helpless and violated.

"I thought, ’Oh my God, I hope this jolt and this bang hasn’t done anything to me internally.’"

Jude Law Cleared of Paparazzi Assault

Actor Jude Law was cleared of charges he assaulted a paparazzi photographer outside his London home last month. Jude was initially arrested, questioned by police and released on bail. The case was forwarded to the state prosecutors – the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) – for further deliberation.

"The police have told me that they and the CPS have examined the photographer's allegation extremely carefully and made the decision that there is no further action to be taken," Jude told People. "Of course I'm delighted to be vindicated."

Jude should be breathing a huge sigh of relief. With the way celebs have been heading to the slammer these days, he got lucky. He is waaaay too pretty to go to survive in jail.

'Grey's' star gets letter from paparazzi

Former Grey's Anatomy star Kate Walsh was amazed to receive a note from paparazzi urging her against erecting a wall outside her LA home.

The actress - who played Dr. Addison Montgomery in the ABC drama - wanted to shield the property she shares with new husband Alex Young from snappers waiting across the street.

She said: "We're building up our front wall for some privacy and we got a note from one of the paparazzi in the mailbox, saying 'We noticed you're going to build up your wall, but we wanted to tell you that you don't need to. You should just put some more shrubs in and then we can't get a good picture. Signed, The Paparazzi'."

NYC PAPARAZZI FEED 360 MEN AT BOWERY MISSION

Members of the NYC Paparazzi donated five cases of Campbell's Chili, a case of Gold Medal white flour and a case of playing cards to the Bowery Mission.

During a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman, at the Ed Sullivan Theater, crew members were throwing bowls of chili, fluorescent bulbs, playing cards, flour and various other oddities of the roof of the theater (see photo). Chili and paint were strewn throughout the street as they descended seven stories towards the ground.

Having finished the taping, stagehands began to throw away cases of leftover chili and flour into a giant green dumpster.

Quick thinking photographers secured the cases of food before being discarded. "Why throw out perfectly good food. We're giving this to the Bowery Mission", one photographer proclaimed.

And so they did. Packed into the back of the car went the goods, where it was warmly received by a smiling staff at the Bowery Mission. "This gift will feed dinner to 360 men at the mission. Thank you!".

The mission was also happy to receive a case of playing cards that was also rescued from disposal. You guys are Aces in my book!

Photogs Tail Prince William in Car Chase

LONDON (AP) - Paparazzi aggressively pursued Prince William and his girlfriend early Friday as they left a nightclub, speeding through the streets of London after photographing the couple, the prince's spokesman said.

The chase coincided with the start of an inquiry this week into his mother's death in a 1997 car crash after being pursued by photographers.

British newspapers on Friday ran pictures of William and Kate Middleton, both 25, in a car after leaving a London nightclub in the early hours. "Threatening" paparazzi then chased the couple in their car, Paddy Harverson said.

"Having already been photographed leaving the club, he and Kate Middleton were then pursued in his car by photographers on motorcycles, in vehicles and on foot. The aggressive pursuit was potentially dangerous and worrying for them," Harverson said.

The photos of the couple were published in the same week as pictures of William's mother, Princess Diana, leaving the Ritz Hotel in Paris in 1997, as part of the inquest into her death. The inquiry is charged with determining how Diana came to die with her boyfriend Dodi Fayed in a car crash while being pursued by paparazzi.

Harverson said it "seems incomprehensible, particularly at this time, that this behavior is still going on."

William and Middleton met at St. Andrews University in Scotland and dated for several years, but announced their split in April as speculation swirled that they were about to marry. Middleton had been pursued by photographers outside her London home and nightclubs in scenes that drew comparisons to the coverage of Diana.

Newspapers reported this summer that the pair had rekindled their romance.

THE LIST...NEW RULES!

Hey everyone...

So I just got back from vacation and found out that there is a new way the 'list' is being handled.

No more two hour/four hour policy.

The new rules are as follows:

  • First person to arrive starts a list for the event.
  • The list is passed unto the hands of the next person to arrive, at which point this person is now the caretaker of the list. The first person is now free to go.
  • The new caretaker cannot leave until he/she is relieved by another person willing to sign, stay and watch the list. Do not sign the list if you do not intent to stay until you are relieved by another photographer.
  • Everyone whose name is on the list must be present 1 hour before the event to ensure placement, for it is at this point that the list will be called. Not present=no spot.
It's a hand me down method. Pretty straightforward and it seems to be working so far.
I think Carmen put it best by saying, "No more jury duty sentence!".

Publicist's death delivers headlines

David Hans Schmidt's life of sordidness 'was a big mess,' brother says

The sheer number of magazines and Hollywood TV shows reveals the public's fascination with the activities of celebrities. But beyond that is a morbid fascination with celebrities caught in scandals or, literally, with their pants down. It is that darker, sleazier place that provided an occupation for Phoenix publicist David Hans Schmidt.

Want to see topless photos of a woman who said she had an affair with President Bill Clinton? How about the prostitute who was picked up by actor Hugh Grant? Want to see the X-rated wedding-night video of Tonya Harding, the Olympic ice skater who had her rival clubbed? Or see the guy who played Screech in the TV show Saved by the Bell star in a pornographic movie? Schmidt figured you did. And over the course of his 15-year career as a merchant of sleaze, he delivered.

Schmidt carved out a unique career, riding media controversies from his office some 350 miles east of Hollywood. He boasted about living a high life from the deals that put second-rate stars into Playboy and Penthouse. He openly solicited photographs and videos of stars, hoping to cash in on their sale. He bragged to reporters about the restaurants he would dine in, the cars he would drive, the names he could drop.

But in the end, Schmidt might have been his best client, hiding what his twin brother, Doug, described as a lifelong depression behind that air of bravado and opulence.

Schmidt was found dead in his townhouse Friday. The depression was something he hid behind a high-energy, take-no-prisoners public persona.

Brad Pitt Speaks Out About Paparazzi Irritation

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt has dubbed the paparazzi "the defining annoyance of my life".

Pitt has spoken out about his life amid the flashbulbs, admitting all the attention he and his family has to deal with has left the four kids he and partner Angelina Jolie share confused about life.

And the actor worries about the effect constant exposure to the paparazzi will have on them.

He says, "I just think how strange it is for my kids. Mad (Maddox), Z (Zahara), Pax - they really believe that every time you go outside there is a herd of people with cameras snapping flashes in your face, who are going to block your way when you're trying to get somewhere.

"That is their vision of the world outside. Very strange, isn't it? It's an everyday thing for them. They don't really see it as bad or good.

"Z will point and go, 'Cameras!' Pax will point and say, 'People!' Maddox is keen to where his parents are coming from. I don't want them to be tensing up, and I don't want them to see of feel any kind of threat.

"But man, when photographers cross the line, you know - if it happened to one of your kids, it's hard not to want to take them down." (c) WENN

Keith Urban Crashes Motorcycle After Being Chased By Photographer

SYDNEY, Australia (October 1, 2007) – Keith Urban was involved in a motorcycle accident on Sunday after the country star was allegedly being chased bya paparazzo.
In a statement released to Access Hollywood, Urban said he was headed to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting on his motorcycle in Sydney when he found himself being pursued by a photographer.
“Today’s incident was the result of one person’s desire to do his job and my desire to maintain my privacy. Some have already attempted to inflate the facts, but the reality is this; while out riding to an AA meeting, a time when my privacy is especially important to me, I felt myself being pursued. I sped up, and in an effort to elude an oncoming car which was making an illegal u-turn, saw no choice but to drop my bike,” Urban said in the statement. “In actual fact, my pursuer came to my assistance, without taking photos, and helped me from the road. I returned home, got my car, and continued on my way.”
Urban entered a rehab facility for alcohol treatment in October 2006. He completed the program in January 2007.
Urban married Nicole Kidman in June 2006.

Jude Law Arrested For Assaulting Paparazzi

British film star Jude Law was arrested following an altercation after he returned home to London from spending time at the Venice Film Festival. The paparazzi victim claims to have suffered minor injuries when Jude tried to grab the camera he was using to take photos right outside the star’s home.

“A 34-year-old man from Maida Vale was arrested yesterday on suspicion of actual bodily harm after voluntarily attending a London police station,” a police spokesman said. “The arrest followed an allegation of assault yesterday at a residential address in Maida Vale. The 34-year-old man was released on bail to a date in October pending further inquiries.”

Jude’s lawyer, Graham Shear, confirmed that his client had talked with the police. However, Jude denies the allegations against him and says that, rather, the paparazzo was to blame for the incident. Shear closed his statement by saying, “Jude has the utmost respect for the police and whilst this is an ongoing matter, no further comment will be made.”

As previously reported by the Gossip Girls, a similar instance recently happened when Hugh Grant was reportedly questioned after being accused of assaulting a paparazzo with a can of beans. It appears that somebody needs to warn Hollywood that London has become a hotbed for celebrity assault lawsuits.

Sienna Miller Calls Photographers “Rapists,” Drops The F-Bomb

Sienna Miller lit into photographers, calling them “rapists,” and dropping F-Bombs all over the place while she was being hounded by photographers during the launch of her new fashion store, “Twenty8Twelve,” in London’s Notting Hill area.

She shouted: “F*** off, you f***ing ****s.”

“See you in court, you f***ing rapists.”

One photographer who was at the launch said he was shocked at the outburst:

“I was quite flabbergasted. We were just doing our jobs, all we were trying to do was get some quotes on how the opening of the shop went and she called us all rapists. It’s an outrageous term to use for such a petty little thing as being at a party and being photographed. It was completely the wrong context to use that word.”

A commenter who posted on the Sun website, said they were one of the photographers who were in attentance as the spectacle went down and what respect the photographer had previous to the tirade is all but gone:

“I was one of the photographers who witnessed Sienna & Rhys’s outburst and any respect I had for either of them has gone now. Sienna in particular is absolutely vile, a nasty piece of work who doesn’t deserve to be placed on a pedestal by anyone. If it weren’t for the fact that she was blessed with good looks, she would have no career because she can’t act to save her life!”

Buscemi riveting in role of paparazzi

Sometimes we take our favorite actors for granted. We see everything they're in - a lot of the times just because they're in it - and we usually come away happy because no matter how good or bad the film is, the actor or actress we love delivered.

Then there are those times when the actor we take for granted just blows us away. That's what Steve Buscemi does with his performance in Delirious.

Written and directed by Tom DiCillo (The Real Blonde), Delirious is the story of Les Galantine (Buscemi) a professional photographer - don't all him a paparazzi - who makes his living taking candid, and often questionable, shots of celebrities at their worst.

One night a wayward soul named Toby Grace (Michael Pitt) shows up at one of his velvet rope shoots, follows him home and asks for a place to stay and, if possible, a job as his assistant.

What follows is less an exploration of the world of celebrity photographers than a deep look into the world of celebrity - those who live in it, those who live off it and those who can't live without it.

DiCillo's complicated script is brought to palpable life by the cast, led by Buscemi's mesmerizing performance. In less talented hands, Les Galantine could have been a repugnant figure, a man nobody cared for or about. But Buscemi digs in deep and creates an everyman we can all not only empathize with, but cheer for in the end.

Brad Pitt Uses Manners To Ward Off Paparazzi

Celebrities are notorious for shouting profanities and throwing punches at the paparazzi. But Brad Pitt has decided to try another way of getting the annoying photographers to leave him alone… a polite request.

Rather than making use of his Fight Club skills, the Oceans Thirteen actor relied on his good manners to try and rid himself, and his family, of obtrusive flash bulbs and chattering celeb-obsessed paparazzi.

Since Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their pack o’ kiddies will be gallivanting around NYC over the next few days, Brad decided to try and set up an understanding with the paps.

The Meet Joe Black stud opened his comments with a compliment… “Man, you guys work hard!” Then he asked for a favor, as any gentleman would… “Anything you guys can do long-lens would be much appreciated. You’re workin’ hard, you guys.”

Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III Preview

The EOS-1Ds Mark III becomes the seventh Canon professional EOS-1D series digital SLR, although only the third of the 's' suffix sub-category which indicates a full frame sensor. Three years since the last EOS-1Ds, the Mark II, the Mark III pushes digital SLR resolution over the twenty megapixel barrier with specifically twenty-one-point-one million pixels (5616 x 3744) on its 36 x 24 mm (full 35 mm frame) sensor. Canon also claim to have increased the 'light gathering efficiency' of the sensor by reducing the amount of (wasted) space between microlenses, hence despite the resolution increase the Mark III still provides sensitivity up to ISO 3200 (with boost enabled).

As well as increasing resolution Canon has pushed continuous shooting up a step with five frames per second over the Mark II's four frames per second. This means that at full speed the two DIGIC III image processors are dealing with an impressive 185 MB/sec. Other improvements include the larger screen, Live View, a fourteen-bit A/D converter and fourteen-bit RAW files, UDMA Compact Flash support (up to 45 MB/sec) and a whole range of features (such as dual storage slots and Picture Styles) inherited from the EOS-1D Mark III.

Key features

  • 21 Megapixel full frame (35mm) CMOS sensor
  • 5 fps continuous shooting for up to 56 frames
  • Dual “DIGIC III” processors
  • Highlight Tone Priority
  • Auto focus system with 19 cross type sensors and 26 focus assist points
  • EOS Integrated Cleaning System
  • ISO 100-1600 (expandable to L:50 H:3200)
  • 3.0” 230K pixel LCD with Live View mode
  • Redesigned viewfinder now wider and brighter

Canon EOS 40D Preview

Canon today introduces its latest digital SLR for advanced amateurs and semi-professionals: the EOS 40D. With a 10.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, 6.5 frames per second burst performance, a newly developed AF system and 3.0” LCD with Live View mode, the EOS 40D makes significant advances in both performance and versatility.

The camera benefits from the new EOS technology platform introduced earlier this year with the professional EOS‑1D Mark III. Canon’s DIGIC III processor delivers responsive operation, improved colour rendering and near-instant start-up time. The EOS Integrated Cleaning System combats sensor dust, while a strong magnesium alloy body with weather resistance ensures lasting durability.

“The EOS 40D represents an important step in the development of EOS for the advanced amateur market. It incorporates many of the technologies pioneered in our latest EOS-1 series cameras,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging, Europe. “For digital photographers, the benefits of upgrading to the EOS 40D are real and significant. For analogue SLR users, there’s never been a more compelling reason to make the switch.”

Key features

  • 10.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor
  • 6.5 fps continuous shooting, max. burst 75 JPEGs
  • New AF system with 9 cross-type sensors
  • DIGIC III processor
  • 3.0” LCD with Live View mode
  • EOS Integrated Cleaning System
  • Clear and bright viewfinder
  • Customisable Picture Style processing parameters
