Ewan McGregor: "We should encourage people to beat up paparazzi."

They're considered the bottom feeders of the fame machine -- but we can't help but enjoy their results

More than cellulite, paternity suits and box office bombs, celebrities hate the paparazzi. These photographers are professional stalkers with telephoto lenses. When the stars complain that they can't live a normal life, they're talking about these guys.

Is a celebrity sporting a gut at the beach? Caught in a compromising position with a "friend"? Or simply trying to take her kid on a rickshaw ride like Angelina Jolie (and Brad Pitt) did last week, when a paparazzo was roughed up by a man thought to be her security guard. If the paparazzi can get the picture, they're in for a big payday.

Recently, it's been rumored that Joe Simpson, the manager/dad of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, is trying to beat the paparazzi at their own game. Radaronline.com reports, "On several occasions, a camera-wielding Simpson has gone toe-to-toe with other snappers for shots of his own daughters, then approved only his own images for distribution through WireImage."

At other times, Joe has provided the agency with exclusive (and even racy) shots of his daughters on family getaways or in other putatively private moments."
