EW Must Miss Party

How many photogs can you fit on a sheet of 6"X8" piece of paper?

Entertainment Weekly Must List Party
PR- Dan Klores Communication
June 16, 2005

This report comes to us from ZePhotog:

Where do I begin ?

Well let's re-write the EW Must List :

1) Fire Dan Klores Communication, they're incompetent and do not
deserve to work

2) When you book celebrities, make sure they are coming

3) Stop promoting nobodies like they are of any importance, if no other magazines are running them, there must be a good reason !!!

Now, this being said, let's see...

Here's how the spots were marked, that's the same for both TV &
photogs, 2 full rows deep :

Having some type of union among photographers has always been an interesting idea to entertain.

Shoot First makes a good point "labeling the events: Actress xxxx out and about in Manhattan, with no mention of any event or location" could be our first way to unite.

If we could get EVERY PHOTOGRAPHER at an event, that we were treated poorly at, to "Boycott Caption (BC)" their photos, it may be a start. I know, I know...in an ideal world...

After a crappy event we can announce to all shooters "THIS IS A BC EVENT!" and we will all know what to do.

Imagine having our agencies attaching a rider to all photos from an event: "Must Caption As Written. Deviation Will Result In Penality Fees". I'm sure that would wake up A LOT of PR.

Why not have the photo agencies put the pressure on these PR companies? It becomes as much a problem for them as it does for us, seeing that if we dont get the pix, then the photo agencies get nothing either. PR would be more likely to listen to calls from wireimage, getty, and AP before getting complaints from Joe Ze Fotog...eh?

then again, something tells me wireimage, getty and AP rarely have these problems.... :)

A listers dont have these problems, not to mention a lot of them are staffers, who get paid either way....
